Danielle Holman

Danielle Holman and I had a photo shoot on Monday, 01-16-12. Danielle's timing was perfect. I was waiting for a confirmation on another model when Danielle said she would be available to come to the studio on Monday. All we had to do was schedule it a little earlier in the morning, since she had another appointment in the afternoon...I believed it was another photo shoot.

Anyways, I have many models who express an interest in shooting TF (trade for), but after the initial contact they fail to respond in a timely matter to my messages. I will always confirm with the model a few days to a week before the shoot to confirm and if I don't get a response I will look for a replacement. This is mostly a problem with the models who contact me through Model Mayhem.

Border Symmetry's "Little Black Dress" Event

On Saturday, 01-14-12, I attended Border Symmetry's, "Little Black Dress" event at the Embassy Suites Hotel in St. Paul. Border Symmetry is a Facebook group for photographers, models and MUA's to network and to get together for different photo shoots.

This event was more of a social event with the opportunity to photograph the different models that signed up for the event.

This was the first time I got to use my Elinchrom Quadra on a shoot. So far I really like them...I'll be able to use more of my Elinchrom light modifiers than with my Nikon SB-900 speedlights. Most of my shots were with the Elinchrom 39" Deep Octa. A few of the them I used a strip light and 8.25 reflector with grid. I look forward to using the Quadra on other location shoots.

Mykquel Reynolds

I met Mykquel Reynolds while photographing the Ultimate Style & INsalon Runway event held last October at the St. Paul River Centre. I was photographing the event for the Minnesota Salon & Spa Professional Association.

Mykquel had asked me for my business card and a short time later she contacted me to do a photo shoot with her. Thank you Mykquel and to Berlin Rice who did Mykquel's hair and make-up. It was another fun day in the studio.

Chelsie Coleman

On Friday, 01-06-12, I had a photo shoot with Chelsie Coleman. I had placed a casting call on Model Mayhem and Chelsie contacted me expressing an interest. Border Symmetry's "Natural Beauty" Photo Shoot

Heather Lea, model and event planner for the Facebook group, Border Symmetry, wanted to put together some photo shoots with the concept of "Natural Beauty".

The idea was to have two outfits...one look being simply some sort of white underwear and the second look to be a simle dress of a neutral color. Although Melissa and Heather opted to have some fabric formed into dresses by Amy Frisch in the dressing room just before the shoot.

I was in one group with one other photographer. There were to be four models, but we only ended up with Melissa and Heather on the day of the shoot, Sunday, 12-18-11.

I photographed Heather for the first half of the shoot, then the models switched photographers. The second half of the shoot I got to photograph Melissa wearing her brown fabric/dress.

Gabi Bauer

A couple weeks ago a friend of mine brought her daughter, Gabi Bauer, to my studio for a few headshots. A day or two later I asked Gabi's mother if she thought Gabi would be interested in doing a photo shoot. She immediately called Gabi who accepted the offer. The photo shoot date was set for Friday, 12-23-11.

I knew that this was going to be Gabi's first time in front of the camera..."modeling". Although we didn't shoot very long I have to say Gabi did a wonderful job. Thank you Gabi....

Stacy

I met Stacy a couple years ago on another photo shoot although I didn't remember her name. Then not too long ago she "friend" me on Model Mayhem. When I was looking for someone to shoot with on Friday, 12-16-11, at the studio I sent her a message to see if she would be interested. She accepted! Thank you Stacy!
