Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed...

Well, I finally bit the bullet and made another purchase from B & H Photo in New York. I've purchased most of my camera equipment through them. I can't say enough nice things about this company. I highly recommend them!

I already shoot in the studio with Elinchrom 600RX Style monolights with Skyports with many different Elinchrom light modifiers.

I started my off camera flash shooting with three SB-900 speedlights using Pocket Wizard II with different light modifiers, before going to the Elinchrom lights. I still use the speedlights. I like the speedlights for their portability, but there are limitations. I guess that can be said with most photography equipment.

Today, I decided to go with the Elinchrom Ranger RX Speed AS to use mostly outdoors. I also picked up the Elinchrom 39" Deep Octabox.

I have a photo shoot scheduled in about a week, so maybe I'll give it a try then. If not, our Second Street Photography Studios are holding another "Strobist" shoot on Sunday, 07-17-11.

The details for this shoot are posted on the Flickr MN Strobist site: MN Strobist-Swim Suit Photo Shoot . The last I've heard was that we have 14 photographers, seven models and two MUA's.
