Hoot and her Owlets ( Great Horned Owls) 04-11-22 (Photos and video)

Both Hoot, female, and Give an Hoot, male, Great Horned Owls were near the nest when I went out to the woods. Hoot can be heard making squawk calls before coming to the nest. While she was at the nest she was feeding on a rabbit before flying off with it. The owlets can also be heard making begging calls when Hoot arrived at the nest.

Both owlets are seen in this video. You can hear them make some soft begging calls as mom gets ready to leave the nest. Hoot makes some squawk calls after she leaves to let the owlets know that she's still nearby.

Peaches on the Rum River / Rum River North Regional Park 10-09-22 (Photos and video)

We did a shorter paddle due to the low water going upstream. There were going to be more shallow rocky swifts, so I decided not to go any further than we did.

Hoot on the nest...windy day! 04-06-22 (photos and video)

There was a light rain and strong winds walking in the woods to see the owls. Give a Hoot, the male, was in the general area of the nest. The owlets stayed under mom’s feathers while I was out with them. One owlet is seen grooming in the video..

I heard the turkeys calling. I could see two males and one female. There were also a couple deer very close to me.

A while later I heard a crash and when I looked in the direction of the noise I saw that a turkey had flew to a nearby branch. It flew off when I walked out of the woods.
