Last night, 03-19-11, I went back down to Famous Dave's in Calhoun Square to see Lamont Cranston. Lamont Cranston has always been one of my favorite bands since the 70's. Back then I saw them many times at many different places such as the St. Croix Boom Company in Stillwater and the Caboose in Minneapolis. Many other indoor and outdoor venues as well.
Anyways, I almost didn't go, but at the last minute I changed my mind. I had heard there was going to be a large reception party going on and I didn't know how crazy it would get. Famous Dave's has a very small dance floor so I wasn't sure if I would be able to get any photos if the crowd was too crazy. The crowd was decent and no problems encountered. Sure glad I went.
Bruce McCabe was playing with them last night. Jeff Rogers was on drums, also. Jeff plays in Bruce's new band, Rich Poor Men, now. Jeff has played with Lamont in the past.
I got quite a few shots of Bruce tonight, since he was in the best light. Now that I think about it the lights never changed on Bruce.
