I used to be the racing director with the Minnesota Canoe Association in 2003 and 2004. When I was involved with the association I put together a race schedule. I did stop racing from 2004 and I returned to the sport in 2008.
I still get some information on the big canoe races and some of the smaller races around Minnesota. I have put together a list of races that I know about.

I had the day off work today and I headed down to the Mississippi River after going to the health club. I was going to paddle today, but there was quite a bit of ice flowing down stream. I stood on shore and watched the ice trying to convince myself to put the canoe in the water. The temperature was in the 40's. I decided there was too much ice to dodge and I really didn't feel like going swimming today, so I got back in my Suburban and headed back home.
